Engaging the Technical Security Requirements under New Chapter 8

New security requirements under the new Chapter 8 to the NISPOM (effective May 1) included technical security features on approved information systems when technically feasible.  That means that ISSRs will have to engage certain automated audit and security features depending on the operating system.

In order to provide some much needed assistance on how to engage these features, FAISSR, has developed instructions for implementing the new requirements on various types of operating systems.  You can download the full PowerPoint presentation containing all of the most popular Operating Systems (Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, SUN Solaris, HP-UX, SGI IRIX, IBM AIX, VMS, MAC) or the one that corresponds to the types of operating system you need to have accredited. Simply follow the instructions and you will be one step closer to system accreditation.
